It started in 2002, when John Gualtieri began supplying tomato vine clips to local greenhouses in Leamington, Ontario. What began as a small operation built on trust and consistency quickly grew into something much larger.
As local growers’ needs evolved, so did NiMA. John expanded from greenhouse supplies into rigid containers, running operations from a modest warehouse, then into flexible packaging as the vision expanded. Every step forward was driven by a simple principle: serve better, deliver smarter. Over the years, NiMA Imports transformed from a specialized supplier into a comprehensive packaging partner, offering every type of produce packaging imaginable.
As relationships deepened, the company broadened its reach into foodservice packaging, built a fleet of tractors and trailers, and added a state-of-the-art cold storage facility, all to better serve the community that built its foundation. What are your operating hours?
Monday-Friday: 8:00am-4:00pm
Saturday-Sunday: Closed
What is your refund or return policy?
We do not accept returns, but we will replace any goods that arrive damaged. To qualify for a replacement, the receiver must provide proof that the damage occurred before use. Goods that are damaged after delivery are not eligible for replacement.
How can customers place an order?
Customers can place orders by contacting our Sales team directly via email. Their contact information can be found in the “Contact Us” section of the website.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, e-transfer, and cheques are all accepted payment methods for orders less than $500. For orders more than $500, cheque or wire transfer are the only available payment options. We do not take Mastercard, Visa, or Debit Card.
What are the different pricing options available?
We price our items on a per piece basis. Prices are updated quarterly and are subject to increases or decreases depending on market fluctuations and different import costs.
What are your delivery charges?
For local customers, we provide delivery without any extra charges. However, for out-of-town customers, a freight surcharge is applied.
Is NiMA audited regularly?
Yes, we take regulations and food safety seriously. NiMA undergoes annual food safety audits to ensure that our facility maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and adheres to all necessary regulations. These regular audits reflect our commitment to providing a clean and safe environment as we handle food products.
Are your suppliers audited for food safety?
Yes, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest food safety standards throughout our supply chain. Our suppliers undergo annual 3rd party audits to ensure compliance with rigorous food safety regulations. Additionally, we partner with suppliers who hold the prestigious SQF certification (Safe Quality Food), further ensuring that our products are sourced from suppliers committed to upholding the highest levels of safety and quality.
Is your packaging recyclable?
Yes, we are committed to environmentally friendly practices. All plastics we use for packaging are widely recyclable where facilities exist. Our packaging materials include RPET (Recycled PET) and Bio PET plastics, both of which can be recycled to minimize their impact on the environment. We strive to use sustainable packaging solutions that align with our dedication to promoting a greener future.
